Dr. Heather DeLuca’s passion for medicine began in her childhood, initially aspiring to be a nurse and later inspired to become a physician. She has been a caretaker from a young age and did consider allopathic medical school but through her personal experience with conventional medicine's approach to chronic respiratory problems, did not feel that this was what she wanted to do to help others. Her interest in nutrition led her to discover naturopathic medicine, which resonated with her desire for a more inclusive and collaborative healthcare model.
Dr. DeLuca pursued her education at Bastyr University near Seattle, earning a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 2005. She has dedicated nearly 20 years to supporting patients on their unique health journeys. Her focus has shifted to naturopathic oncology, integrating nutrition and lifestyle with conventional cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation. She emphasizes empowering patients, providing tools and therapies to support them mentally, emotionally, and physically throughout and beyond their cancer treatment. She also has a practice focus on Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections. Dr. DeLuca is a member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is a licensed physician in CT.
