About Dr. Brown

Naturopathic Physician & Nutrition Specialist

Gina Brown, ND

Dr. Gina Brown is a naturopathic physician and completed her residency at Fairfield Family Health. She is originally from Nova Scotia, Canada where she completed undergraduate degrees from Saint Francis Xavier University, earning Bachelor of Science degrees in both Human Kinetics and Human Nutrition. After spending years working within the hospital system, she recognized the need to provide a more proactive and preventative approach to care. It was this motivation that led her towards naturopathic medicine and earning her Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Canada.

While working her way through the program, Gina served as an ambassador for naturopathic medicine on the University of Toronto’s Interprofessional Healthcare Student’s Association to promote collaborative care principles across various health professions, and on the school’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. She was awarded the Student Innovation Award for her research project “The Teaching Kitchen Landscape in Canada and the United States: a scoping review”, and has been published in Naturopathic Doctor News and Review journal.

Dr. Gina strives to provide her patients with treatment options that work for them and often draws from her background in nutrition and exercise in addition to typical naturopathic interventions. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, and has a special interest in metabolic disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and sports medicine. She has also completed additional training as a naturopathic doula, and enjoys helping patients on their fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journey. She is a strong advocate for individualized and collaborative healthcare, and uses an evidence-based approach to help her patients achieve optimal health.

In her spare time, Dr. Gina can be found training for her next marathon, reading a good book, or in the kitchen.
